A 5 Minute Meditation To Bring Stress Levels Down

Want to get the stress busting benefits of meditation, even when time isn’t on your side?

If you are like me, the last thing on you ever running to-do list is to sit and breathe. 

As a true multitasker, I just couldn’t fathom the idea!!  A lot of moms are put off the idea of meditation because they believe that it’s too time consuming or too complicated.  But I am here to tell you that it can be super simple and the benefits are a game changer!


Let’s run through a quick meditation that you can go to whenever you have a spare 5 minutes:


  1. Find somewhere comfortable and private. You don’t want to be distracted from the meditation because you’re uncomfortable or you’ll risk that being your overriding thought throughout!
  2. Close your eyes and let your body relax. Breathe deeply from your diaphragm and feel the tension start to ease. Visualize this happening and imagine yourself breathing it away or feeling it draining from your body.
  3. Once you’re nicely relaxed, switch your focus to clearing your mind. When a thought pops into your mind, acknowledge it and let it float off, before you bring your focus back to the present. It’s less about thinking of nothing and much more about returning your mind to the present each time. Don’t get too hung up on whether it’s going “right” … just go with it.
  4. At the same time, notice the feelings within your body and as you breathe.


Do this regularly and you’ll start to build resilience against chronic stress.

This can help you to manage stress in a healthier way.

Plus, it’s a super effective way to manage short term, acute stress (which us moms seem to know a lot about!!).

If you can give a bit more time to meditation some days, you’ll get bigger benefits!
