TWR 124: Mindful Indulgence During the Holidays

It is common for Amber to hear from women she coaches that healthy eating during the holidays causes them a great deal of stress. Due to a vicious cycle of binge-restrict diets, many women think they need to blow their diets and overindulge during the holiday season. However, there is a much better way to approach eating during this season as well as throughout the year.

You can mindfully indulge in a way that does not cross the line of binging, even if you are actively trying to lose weight. To begin with, you should understand that you have the freedom to decide what you eat. Over time, mindful indulgence keeps you consistent because you allow yourself the things you love, even if they are not a regular part of your diet.

Amber promotes not looking at your food as good or bad because when we do this, we tend to think: “I am bad if I eat this food” when we eat something we have deemed “bad.” Subsequently, we want these foods even more, resulting in feeling like we need to reset our diet all over again.

In this episode, Amber will share three ways you can still cash in on the holiday goodies you love while working towards your fitness goals because sustainable weight loss isn’t dependent on perfection, and the path to health isn’t a diet; it’s a lifestyle change.
